Daddy bought a set of harmonicas that J just loves to play. He does pretty well too! Here are daddy and J both playing their harmonica together.


Washing Machine Basketball

























































This is a fun little game that daddy created. He opens up our washing machine door and the goal is for J to throw the ball and make a basket in the washing machine. Daddy loves playing guard and blocking him from getting the ball in!

I was lucky to snap this picture at just the right time! J was walking up the stairs and daddy was peeking over the rail at him.

Daddy Time Friday

I really enjoy this linkup. I find that often I'm not making memories with pictures when daddy is spending time with J. Often, I'm letting them have "alone time" and I'm doing something else. This link up has helped me to focus on capturing some of these neat moments daddy has in spending time with J. I will be doing this once a month, since I'm reducing my blog time a bit.

Daddy and I both love making J laugh. This was hysterical. Daddy would say something funny and J would do this incredibly funny laugh. They went back and forth and none of us could stop laughing.

I was able to capture some really neat play this week with Daddy and J.












































We got out our Backyardigans Memory game this week after realizing we had it. I got it probably over 6 months ago at our local thrift store. Lately, J watched some of this show at my sister's house and really loves it so it was great to do this game. Daddy got involved helping to learn matching. We were teaching what an "exact" match is. At first, J was just matching the characters but then learned how to find the ones that matched exactly.
































One night J crawled up on daddy's lap for some impromptu dinosaur/animal figure play. I had so much fun watching these two play. I also got a cute little video.

Last week Patricia wasn't able to post Daddy's Time Friday so this is a week old.....

We were on vacation without daddy, so I don't have many new pictures of daddy with J. But...I did find these two cute ones that I took one night this week when daddy was reading J some books before bed.

Daddy's Time Friday

Daddy really helped me out one night when I needed to get some things done by playing with J. Although I didn't get pictures, they had a ball playing in the basement with J's new soccer ball. (We got the soccer ball after collecting a bunch of tokens from our favorite restaurant, Culvers.) Daddy made up a game of using the front loading washing machine as a basket. They took turns trying to throw the ball into the basket. J just loved it! I could hear his laughter all the way upstairs as I worked. Then after play time, J asked daddy to make a bed on the floor. So they got blankets and lay down together. So cute! I love seeing them play together. Thanks daddy!













































Daddy got us all organized to go out and do some Christmas caroling. He went out and printed several Christmas songs and we went as a family with our friend Hans. Daddy called ahead to several friends to see who would be home and we made 4 stops. J did great. He made sure to find the books and toys at each house. Oh, and some candy too! We brought our home made tambourine to keep the beat and each of us wore a Christmas hat. It was so much fun.

Daddy's Time Friday

Daddy came out to play with us in the snow and took pictures! He loves photography and J is one of his favorite subjects.















































Daddy had the honor of putting the "nail ornament" on the tree at our friend's house. They invited our family over to help decorate their tree (how sweet) and had a special nail ornament to remember Jesus. Daddy got to put that special ornament on.



















One night after work, daddy had a bit of a hard time staying awake while playing "fire fighter" with J. He played along even though he was so tired.



















J's bedtime wouldn't be the same without daddy having some special reading time with him. J won't settle into bed until daddy comes up to read to him. If daddy is busy down stairs, J will call him from the top of the stairs "Daddy come!" until he finally comes up to read.
