This past week, we were on vacation at my sister's house in the suburbs of Chicago. We didn't do official Tot School, but we did a lot of different activities and took pictures. He also seemed to do a lot of coloring, but I didn't get any pictures of that. J really enjoyed his time playing with his cousins, ages 6 and 8. They had a lot of fun.
J is all ready for his first swim in my sister Amy's pool. He had a session of lessons at the YMCA and we've gone swimming a few times on our own at the Y and at a lake. He gained a lot of confidence this week in the pool. He went from holding me tightly to floating in the water on his tummy and just holding my hands as we moved around.
I would say one of the highlights of J's week was playing with his cousin Blake's dinosaurs. We didn't have any of these at our house (until now after some generous donations from Blake) and he just loved setting them up and playing with them.
The family joined in with one of J's passions, reading. He had the privilege of having books read by his Aunt Laurie, his Uncle Rick and his Aunt Amy. He was animated too, talking and pointing to pictures while they read.
