Tiny Talk Tuesday is a way to share the fun and interesting things our kids are saying. I love joining up for this blog carnival at Not Before 7. Click her button above to see what kind of Tiny Talk has been overhead in the homes of others!

"My Hands Are Walking"

J put his hands into his boots and said, "Mommy look, my hands are walking." He actually walked putting one hand in front of the other, it was so funny. I love seeing his little sense of humor blossom!

One afternoon we were gearing up to get our winter clothes on to go and play in the new snow. J was all excited and started dancing saying, "I'm doing a snow dance momma!"

I got J a little dinosaur notebook that he can scribble and draw in. One day he was using it to write up our grocery list! I do a weekly grocery list and lately he's been working on one of his own. Today he did the expanded version by giving me the run down of what we were going to get. He'd say something like "we need muffins" and then he'd scribble on his page, then "cheese sticks" and scribble on his page. He even remembered "daddy's juice" and "wrote" that down too.

J is really into books and for a while now he's been "reading" on his own. He will often do this during his quiet play time when he's playing on his own. One night as I was cleaning his room while getting ready for bed he started "reading" a Diego book we recently got from the library. We've read it a couple times, and it has several different stories in it. I noticed he was reading this one on his own and I was very interested to listen in so I asked him to read it to me. This was so much fun. He did so well at remembering pieces of the story as we went from page to page. I loved hearing him tell the stories and was amazed by how much he had remembered and how he used the pictures to put words together.

This was out of the blue. We were reading The Gingerbread Man and J starts talking about us dressing up as the characters when we go trick or treating! He told me I could be the gingerbread man, he would be the mom and daddy would be the daddy. I explained to him that since he is a boy he could be the gingerbread man and mommy would be the gingerbread momma. He thought that was a good idea. (And I'm saving this idea for next year!!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the kind comments. Your son is such a cutie, about the same age as Amelia if I am not mistaken. I love the hands walking comment and picture. And writing the shopping list is so cute. I love listening to my girls read to themselves too. It amazes me how much they are picking up. Amelia has been reading to herself in her crib at nap time just like I let Tabitha do.
